Saint Brendan Novena
Feast Day: May 16

************

Recite the following for 9 consecutive days

Dear Saint Brendan, to mention your name is to recall much travelling.
It was in relation to voyages that you emerged as a popular Saint.
The Irish became great travelers thus spreading their faith everywhere.
Protect not only mariners but also all those who go down to the sea in ships.

(Make your request here.)

Amen.

"Help me to journey beyond the familiar and into the unknown.
Give me the faith to leave old ways and break fresh ground with You.
Christ of the mysteries, I trust You to be stronger than each storm within me.

I will trust in the darkness and know that my times, even now, are in Your hand.
Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You.” Amen.

Most glorious ascetic and chief of Ireland‘s Prophets, O Father Brendan, you were a bright beacon in the western isle guiding many to salvation. At your heavenly birthday the Angels rejoiced and miraculously announced their joy to our Father Columba. The prayers of the righteous avail much for us sinners. Wherefore O Saint, pray to God for us
that He will find us a place in the Mansions of the Blessed.
(Troparion of Saint Brendan of Birr)

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.   Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.  Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be; World without end.  Amen.

Saint Brendan, Pray for us.
