Saint Francis de Sales Chaplet Prayers

On the Medal Pray

(For Complete Trust in God)

Do not look forward to the changes and chances of this life with fear, rather, look to them with full confidence that, as they arise, God, to whom you belong, will, in His love, enable you to profit by them.  He has guided you thus far in life, do you but hold fast to His dear hand, and he will lead you safely through all trials.  Whenever you cannot stand, he will carry you lovingly in His arms.
Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow.  The same eternal Father who takes care of you today will take care of you tomorrow, and every day of your life; either He will shield you from suffering or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it.  Be at peace then, and put aside all useless thoughts, all vain dreads and all anxious imaginations.  Amen.

Pray the Our Father on each of the first three beads

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.   Amen.

Pray the Hail Mary on each of the next three beads

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.  Blessed art Thou among women and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.

Pray the Glory Be on the final set of three beads

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be; World without end.  Amen.

On the Crucifix Pray

O my God, I thank you and I praise You for accomplishing Your holy and all-lovable will without any regard for mine.  With my whole heart, in spite of my heart, do I receive this cross I feared so much!  It is the cross of Your choice, the cross of Your love.  I venerate it; nor for anything in the world would I wish that it had not come, since You willed it.  I keep it with gratitude and with joy, as I do everything that comes from Your hand; and I shall strive to carry it without letting it drag, with all the respect and all the affection which Your works deserve.  Amen.
